‘Never judge a book by its cover.’
I’ll be honest with you, I absolutely do, as long as we’re talking about books rather than using the phrase metaphorically.
So it’s very exciting to be able to show you the beautiful design for A Map of the Sky.
And here it is!
I hope you love it as much as I do! It captures so many elements of the story: Kit, the young protagonist in search of an adventure, the coastal setting, the summer skies filled with seabirds, and the sense that all is at once bright and hopeful, yet somehow also moody and mysterious.
And it’s no less surreal seeing my name on a book cover design this time round.
While I’m here, I have an update on the publication date. If you read last month’s post you may recall I said it was coming out in July. That’s now changed and the book will be released this September instead. The good news is that it will be a joint publication date for the UK and US, so my American friends won’t have to choose between waiting a few months or ordering the book to be delivered from across the Atlantic (which at least one of you did last time!).
As an aside, did you spot the countdown I’ve added to this site? It’s on the righthand side if you’re viewing this on a laptop.
And with that, my friends, I am off to do some last bits and pieces of editing.
